Our approach
The purpose of bloom! is to empower thinkers and honor the inherent dignity of children and those who teach them.
We develop teachers who consistently view education through the lens of child development, and who can therefore skillfully use academics, interactions, and school culture to provoke educational experiences aligned with children’s learning goals and capacities.
This results in children’s mastery of intellectual skills and knowledge crucial for independence, self-awareness, problem-solving, innovation, and community membership.
What children need
We believe children need to be in relationships with adults who respect their capacity for autonomy.
Children need to be in a learning environment where they can have freedom and be responsible as they explore new ideas through a variety of methods including meaningful movement, exploration, opportunity to trial and error, and space to ask and investigate questions.
This freedom allows children to discover ideas for themselves, building their own sense of autonomy and life-long skills.
